Fabián Ugalde (Queretaro 1967 - )


Querétaro, México, 1967) after having studied at La Esmeralda (INBA), Ugalde showcases his paintings in different museums, cultural spaces and university forums both in Mexico and Europe, Asia and South Africa. His work has been recognized with awards such as first place in acquisition at X bienal de Pintura Rufino Tamayo (2000), first place in acquisition at 3er. Salón de Octubre, Great Prize Omnilife (2001) and second place at 3er Concurso de Instalación Ex Teresa Arte Actual. His work has been granted support by the ministry of exterior relationships and the French ministry of culture. In 2001 he received the Pollock-Krasner Foundation scholarship in N.Y.; in 1999 he won the young creators scholarship of the FONCA. In recent years, Fabian gives courses in bi-dimensional production, sculpture and engraving at the National school of painting, La Esmeralda in México, where he resides.
