The first impression on discovering Alban’s art is usually that of surprise. These old rusty pieces of metal are actually faked – they are combined sculptures and paintings that have been constructed by the artist out of wood, plaster and resin. They don't even replicate reality since scale, symbols and icons have been voluntarily distorted. These 'authentic fakes' question pre-conceived ideas and human attraction for vintage objects that mirror our own ageing.

Biography : Yoakim Belanger (b.1977) is a multi-media artist who lives and works in Montreal. He is graduated in graphic design from UQAM school of Montreal. He has directed two short films ('If I can Fly' and 'Ces femmes qui marchent') who have been acclaimed by critics in international film festivals. His artworks are presented by galleries in Canada and in the UK by >french art studio.

Detailed Description : Yoakim Bélanger's art is centered on human bodies. He is fascinated by movements, expressions, plasticity and their universality. Across various media (painting, drawing, photography and video) Yoakim Bélanger sublimates the physical appearance of humanity and celebrates its strength, passion and grace. In his paintings, through a work of scrap, sanding and alterations on metal plates, Yoakim reaches a vibrant and textured brushwork that merges abstraction and figurative, order and chaos, shade and light. With this work, the artist reaches his ultimate goal of portraying both body and soul.

Detailed Description : 'I want to bring joy through the choice of colours, the theme, the life and the movement from each stroke of my palette knife. When I complete a painting, my strongest wish is that those who see it will be drawn into it and want to be part of the happy atmosphere' Christine Drummond work is indeed an intense sensorial experience. The use of vibrant colours, the bold strikes of the spatula and the underlying musical composition that drives her painting flow are the three intricate core elements of her creation process. Her art reflects a constant search of happiness resulting in a wonderful testimony of her brazilian culture and heritage. From Sao Paulo to Monte Carlo, from New York to Sydney, Christine Drumond has gained much deserved recognition from the art world. >french art studio has proudly been representing her since 2015.

Biography : Claire Fahys (b. 1984 in France) is graduated from Central St Martins School. She lives and works in Berlin. She has been presented by >french art studio in the UK since 2008.

Detailed Description : Claire Fahys explores the future of social relationships in an increasingly virtual and global world. Freed up from any material constraint, virtual communities allow infinite interconnections for an unlimited population. But like vertical villages imagined by Le Corbusier in the 30s, these giant cities that aim at developing human relationships do have a dehumanised aspect. In the transition from the old real world to the new virtual world, human beings make the scaring experience of their smallness relative to the mass.
