  • sandra Paula Fernández  (+)

Exhibition : My work move around the area of digital impressions on Dibond. Those has sometimes integrated small screens that reproduce videoes, installations with LEDs and recently embroideries of cruy point on panama fabric. In the serie the main character is Snow White, true her I try to break with the female stereotype, to denounce the role of the passive woman, the patriarchal and macho man values they expect that women comply. My intention is to do a digital collage where combine texts, infographics, children´s clips - art. The material comes from internet, I am using the graphical tablet to do the necessary adjustments to the drawings. I like to add information about what one sees in certain parts of the plot and I also write in the parts that I want to highlight, or to explain what is every thing, like a instruction manual. I Also use signs to tell the way to read the drawing or numbers that mark the order of the small "sequences". I express myself through White Snow character, she is transform into multiple protagonist of my works, where she adopts all the possible papers: good, bad, killer, zombies, dark skin women, shemales, pacifists, nymphomaniacs, patients, soldiers, aliens, police women, activists, virgins, prostitutes … Actually they are a micro histories inserted inside the one that gives him coherence. Small worlds that are related between them. And simultaneously every picture forms part of the bigger serie that has to do with the theme of order and chaos, destruction and regeneration.

  • Arancha Goyeneche

Biography : Understanding the painting of Arancha Goyeneche and, by extension, that of many other artists who paint using light as a material, is surely as easy as investigating the figure of the peacock: its colours do not originate from the pigments of its feathers but from light interference phenomena; it is a fine, regular structure that amplifies or extinguishes light waves according to their frequencies. The rest is a question of rhythm. Or, in the case of painting, of assuming that it is something other than a material value. Arancha Goyeneche works with fragments as triggers for each new image, thereby moving forward from serendipitous findings. Employing adhesive vinyl as a palate of colours, she manages to achieve pictorial effects, until removing the initial painting and even the vinyl itself to enjoy its photographic simulacrum. Later on light arrives as a pictorial effect or gesture; therein the use of coloured fluorescent tubes. There also exists the intention to create painting with actual movement beyond the virtual movement of the painting from its perspective effects. Her strategy is thus one of unfolding or propagating a reconstructed and hence fictitious reality that is born of the most traditional of media –painting–, from which it inherits its greatest historical load and which, at the same time, apparently processes a weaker or, perhaps, more questioned contemporaneity, the mood of which is continuously under debate. Painting is today, more than ever before, an attitude. As Thierry de Duve has pointed out, painting is no longer a technique, but a tradition. An idea or way of thinking, surely, about painting itself in its possibility to apprehend the world.

Detailed Description : Despite of not coming up with words, his creations speak for itself with a beautiful delicacy and their great aesthetic quality. Without having clear his Japanese influences, he uses colour as subjective theme, which the spectator gazes differently, depending on the distance from which the creation is seen. Different levels of paper produce a vision interlaced with colour. His pieces are dynamic and optically pleasing, as well as charged with a poetic meaning beyond a simple game of perception.

  • Jesús Zurita  (+)

Biography : The prolific work of the young artist Jesús Zurita is formally extended by the surface of drawings, paintings and installations, by running what himself considers "wall paintings"; from a conceptual or a discursive point of view, among the ravings of questioning the representation itself, whether it is executed or "staging, more than anything his work tries to jeopardize the contemporary notions of narrative and silence.
