(Lima, Peru 1984 - Present)
BiographyAbel Bentin (Lima, 1984) is a contemporary artist who graduated in First Place of the Art Faculty of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (2008). Abel Bentin is one of the most active young artists in national and international collective exhibitions.
In Abel Bentin’s works ice cream cones melt and viscous substances drip down from classical statues, reinterpreted with a pop sensibility. His I Don’t Believe in Art (2017), made of marble powder and resin, was part of an installation created at the Los Angeles Ice Cream Museum (now permanently closed) in which even the walls of the room were invaded by dripping ice cream cones, stuck to the walls.
