Manuel Felisi

(Milan 1976 -)

Biography

Born in 1976 in Milan, he attended the Liceo Artistico and the Accademia delle Belle Arti di Brera. In his artistic practice he moves between different fields, including painting, photography and collage, to create installations in which he translates and narrates time. The main theme that bind his production is a subject that concerns us all, our being and being here, here and now; time changes things with its passing, preserves them and makes us forget them. He uses photography to describe a time that freezes and measures places, objects, people and feelings; the instant of the photographic shot is no longer a mere mechanical operation but becomes the symbol that links the different types of time described in his work. His works are made up of layers of different materials that always follow the same scientific order, like a ritual that - from painting to printing - is never confused with mechanics and repetitiveness since it is always the result of the involvement and feeling that inspire his artistic work.
