About the Artist
My subjects are mainly female, proud and powerful."
'Polarity' is a new original artwork by Lantomo, is the pseudonym of Antonella Montes, an Italian realist artist based in Barcelona.
Dedicating herself exclusively to her passion of painting, Lantomo’s journey took her to Beijing, China, where she lived for two years. Her period in China left an indelible trace, influencing her artwork and style. Her drawings became more accurate and detailed, and she began working in monochrome, sometimes utilising only highlights of colour. Adapting a hyper-photorealistic approach, Lantomo’s subjects frequently have Asian features.
Lantomo’s work has been exhibited in galleries and art fairs across Europe, Beijing, and she is currently being shown at CONTEXT Art Miami for two consecutive years.
Lantomo, pseudonym of Antonella Montes, is an Italian artist based in Barcelona. Lantomo graduated in Architecture at the Faculty of Rome La Sapienza, obtained a MA in Architecture, Art and Ephemeral Space at UPC Barcelona, as well as pursued professional courses of Drawing and Graphic Design in various disciplines
(Live nude drawing, illustration, Screen Printing, Web Design, book Layout, Illustrator, Indesign).
The passion for drawing, inherited from her mother, has been a constant in her life. She studied architecture in Italy, in Rome and Genoa; then moves to Spain, specializing in scenography and exhibition design.
Just a few years ago, since 2010, Lantomo started to dedicate herself exclusively to painting, and her passion has definitely become a job. And in this journey, her stay of almost two years in Beijing, China, you have left an indelible trace. Her drawings have become more accurate and detailed, her only colors the black and white, with touches of red, and the drawn faces have come to have Asian features.
To create the portraits, Lantomo uses photography as a starting point, and cleans the image with an extreme minimalism, in the composition, medium and colors, due to her architectural formation. Lantomo works in grayscale with touches of red, drawing inspiration from iconography and traditional Asian drawings (especially Chinese and Japanese), trying to avoid the excess of decoration. The subjects, mainly female, are portrayed as proud and visibly melancholic, whilst the artist’s experience in the contrast of cultures between East and West is palpable through the artist’s process of creation and the atmosphere portrayed.

This series is exploring finishing works in a round format. Furthering the artists ideas of urban 'dreams' or fragments from our childhood memories.
Alberto’s unique hand-coloured artworks have been gaining increased popularity over the last few years. The artist travels the world with his unique vision, taking photographs in black and white of the cities and landscapes that captivate him. Each work is then uniquely hand-coloured by the artist and is an original work of art.
The original image was photographed in New York by the artist.
Spanish/Australian artist Alberto Sanchez is a photographer and multi-media artist based in Byron Bay, Australia. Sanchez has pushed the medium of photography, developing a unique hand-colouring technique that enables him to create imagined scenarios from everyday moments. This heavy use of hand-colouring and texture results in a conceptual masquerade and ultimately creates an improbable landscape, in which us, the audience, are invited to participate in the struggle of modern life. The images fluctuate between the narrative to the matter-of-fact photographic record, resulting in a hybrid reality, of physical and imagined worlds.
Alberto conceives photography as a creative art form that is not constricted to the digital medium, where he prints, hacks and re-invents his own photographs to give them an idiosyncratic flavour. He sees photography as a kind of time traveling experience, a mixture of magic realism, which enables him to rediscover the world through his viewfinder. His body of work explores the notions of urban expansionism, capitalism and how individuals define themselves in this overloaded environment.
AWARDS
His work has appeared in many press articles and publications. Awards include: Bowness Photography Prize (Finalist), Wilson Viual Arts Award (Finalist), Sunshine Coast Art Prize (Finalist), Prometheus Visual Arts Award (Finalist), Doug Moran Portrait Prize (Semi-Finalist), Byron Bay Arts Class (1st Prize),, Head On Alternative Portrait Awards (Finalist & People’s Choice Award), Olive Cotton Portrait Award with Tweed Regional Art Gallery, NSW (Highly Commended), Australian Institute of Photography (AIPP) National & QLD Awards Photographer of the Year, Guest Artist at Photo Istanbul (by invitation)

Fabian Solymar DAGOR is a leading figure in Venezuelan Street Art, translating his research into geometric abstraction and typography as he deconstructs iconic languages of representation and thus his works constitute a universe of reductionist abstraction which echoes the visual languages of modernity while also inserting itself in a deeply contemporary geometry. His research is transported to paintings on canvas, wood assemblage and Muralist interventions. For DAGOR Muralism plays a very important role in his practice, he believes fervently in the positive impact of public art on the culture and welfare of people, creating spaces that can offer a sense of community, places for contemplation and spaces to cement identities.
DAGOR has participated in international festivals of Muralism such as Meeting Of Style in Ecuador, various festivals in the United States, Wynwood and Art Basel Miami in Florida, and has also participated in various group and individual shows in Venezuela and overseas while painting murals in Caracas, Barinas, Miami, Brooklyn, Quito, Mexico City as part of a project with the United Nations in the largest mural gallery in the world.

Originally from a small town in the countryside of South of Brazil, Ciane Xavier’s first passion was to explore the immense diversity of cultures around the World during her career as a fashion model. Since her teens Ciane has lived in more than a dozen different countries, which has shaped much of what she today calls as a process of identity loss and reconstruction of one self, that is strongly reflected in her work.
Ciane's first encounter with her inner artist, started in the Philippines while painting the walls of her new apartment.
This was a turning point in her life when she decided to follow a childhood passion for drawing and to emerge herself into art. Since then, she has taught herself to paint and sculpt, learning about different materials and integrating it into her work.
Through her engagement with a variety of elements and references from pop culture, Ciane explores the boundaries of today's society, touching upon globalization and the distractions of the millennial era. The characters in her works serve as an exploration of the human soul, symbolizing power, fragility, vulnerability and eternity but retaining a sense of vagueness to encourage a dialogue and question the viewer.
