As an artist, I have devoted myself to mastering one of the rarest and most demanding mediums in the world: Venetian plaster. This centuries-old art form, passed down through my Venetian ancestry, requires relentless patience, physical endurance, and an uncompromising eye for detail. I import authentic plaster directly from Venice and, with palette knives, chisels, and trowels, build surfaces from 4 up to 24 layers. Each stage must be timed perfectly, compacted so it does not roll back on itself, then burnished and polished; one misstep can undo weeks of work. This constant risk has shaped me into an artist of discipline and resilience, unafraid of complexity. My practice pushes the boundaries of tradition by infusing pigments, metallic powders, and crushed Murano glass, transforming each piece into a radiant fusion of depth and light. Every work reflects not only the labor of technique but the story of an artist dedicated to elevating a fragile, historic medium into a contemporary expression of brilliance and soul—an experience that can never be fully captured in a picture, only in person.
