Feeny’s Photo

Daniel Cohen

About

In 2019, Cohen was inspired by his grandparents' cherished business, decided to resurrect Feeny's Photo.
With a deep-seated desire to honor his family's legacy while pushing the boundaries of photography, Cohen transformed the concept into something entirely revolutionary. He breathed new life into the photo lab, infusing it with his innovative vision and contemporary art techniques.

Cohen's reimagined Feeny's Photo made its grand debut at the prestigious LA Art Show, immediately capturing the attention of the art world. The collection featured oversized acrylic film strips, meticulously hand-sculpted to add depth and dimension, and hyper-realistic oversized Polaroids that challenged the conventional flatness of photographs. Love letters adorned with vintage, artistically aged envelopes and photos wrapped in oversized plastic tape further demonstrated Cohen's commitment to blending nostalgia with modernity.
This collection was more than just a tribute; it was a bold statement that redefined the art of photography. Each piece in Feeny's Photo showcased Cohen's versatility as an artist and his ability to transform traditional photography into immersive three-dimensional sculptures. The innovative presentation breathed new life into the art form, making it tactile and engaging in a way that digital images could never achieve.
