LÚCIO CARVALHO
Born in 1965, Cambucí, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He graduated in Industrial Drawing in
1986.
Since 1998 he lives in São Paulo, where he works with fine art. Lucio has already
exhibited his works in galleries and cultural centers in several cities of Brazil and also in
Argentina, Italy, USA, France, Belgium, Holland and Japan.
He has been part of art fairs as: SP ARTE, SP ARTE/FOTO, AQUA ART MIAMI, PARIS
PHOTO - Los Angeles and ART PARIS - FRANCE, been selected by SAATCHI special
curated collection at Grand Palais.
He won Brazilians and International awards, like the Re:Contemplating the Void
GUGGENHEIM for the fiftieth anniversary of the museum in NY in 2010.
In 2008 he was chosen to be one of the artists at the Photographic Society of Japan to
be part of the Modern Photographic Exhibition of Brazil.
Since Chic Evolution in Art start curating Lucio Carvalho in 2017, his talent has became
an international sensation worldwide.

In On the Other Side, Lucio Carvalho fuses regal elegance with surreal introspection. Porcelain elements, baroque florals, and a mirrored helmet captivate at first glance, while the work quietly asks: What if I had chosen differently? What awaits on the other side? Fragile tea sets, symbols of daily comfort, hover in delicate balance — a metaphor for the tension between desire and reality.
Continuing his Between Both Worlds series, Lucio integrates hidden peepholes that invite viewers to peer beyond the surface and step into an inner dialogue. The piece blurs the line between presence and imagination, reminding us that while we wonder about alternate lives, the richness of the moment is already here.
