About the Artist
Ever since painting became an integral part of his life, Natan has worked to develop his unique and distinctive 3Dpainting technique, which is recognized as NATANISM. He painstakingly combines all kinds of plastic materials in different quantities, which include, amongst others, silicon and acrylics, and applies them, using kitchenware, on canvas.
This medium creates a rigid 3D texture on the surface, which creates a stunning result. Using kitchenware as his painting tools stems from his deep-seated roots in the kitchen, embedded in him from early childhood. All his materials are applied with a laborious devotion, entirely by hand. There is no machinery involved in his
process.
For Natan, there is an element of tantra to his work, which includes repetition, patience, and grace. These steady and repetitive movements become a meditation for him, connecting the physical to the energetic
nature of light and spirit.
This artwork belongs to Urban Series:
Immersed in the ordinary yet extraordinary tapestry of everyday life, Natan’s canvas becomes a conduit for capturing the subtle beauty and profound emotion woven into the fabric of human existence in its urban environment. Through keen observation and empathetic insight, he elevates the mundane to the realm of the sublime, revealing the quiet dignity, resilience, and grace inherent in everyone’s daily rituals and interactions. With strokes both tender and bold, Natan imbues his subjects with a luminous vitality, casting light upon the moments of joy, love, and contemplation that define the human experience. In his paintings, a glance, a gesture, or a fleeting expression becomes a window into the soul, evoking a myriad of emotions that resonate deeply with viewers. Through his artistry, Natan not only celebrates the inherent beauty of ordinary people but also invites us to pause, reflect, and find solace in the shared humanity that binds us.
Influenced by the recent movement that redefines textiles as artistic language, I explore how materiality and form can evoke emotion and provoke thought.
This artwork is a dialogue between the tactile and the visual, inviting viewers to explore the tactile qualities up close while contemplating the broader cultural implications of textiles in art today. It stands as a testament to the evolving role of fabric in contemporary art, where it is no longer merely a medium, but a voice.
Blending my heated acrylic technique with textile art adds a unique fusion of texture and fluidity. Acrylic, when heated, becomes pliable and can be molded or layered in ways that mirror the softness and flow of textiles. In my work, this could mean manipulating the acrylic to mimic fabric-like folds, or embedding the acrylic into the textiles, creating a sharp contrast between the rigid and the flexible. The interplay between the hard, sculpted acrylic and the soft, natural fibers would create a dynamic visual and tactile experience, highlighting both your sculptural and textile skills.

between the old and the new. By studying depth, layer, and texture, I combine century-old techniques such as needlepoint and sculpting with contemporary
practices to express multidimensional perspectives.
My most recent series highlight classic icons, playfully immortalized in semi-precious stones. The contrast between the irregular rough-cut, organic nature of the
stones and the level contemporary plexiglass examine the duality of the authentic and the synthetic, and how these featured icons embody this intrinsic polarity.
The series integrates cubic techniques to render anatomical elements in a fragmented, abstract form, creating a meta, self-referential commentary on the multifaceted
nature of fame and identity.
