About the Artist

Lee Youngha employs a lenticular effect on his works by giving an illusion of depth, rendering a moving effect as the image is viewed from different angles. His canvases comprise of two different images superimposed and painted, the dual structure of the canvas enabling the expansion of the plane, the stretching of the image beyond the virtual, and changing the meaning behind the image.
In this way of working, the content contained in the two images momentarily conflicts due to momentary changes in the two images, and the intended meaning of the work can be recognized as an image.
Youngha Lee expressed two heroes who led Argentina to two World Cup wins through the work “Diego Maradona & Lionel Messi.”
Junhyung Kim’s ‘Belief’ work is an oil painting in homage to the Storm on the Sea of Galilee, and then writes the Gospel of Matthew and Mark on it. The Storm on the Sea of Galilee is a painting from 1633 by the Dutch Golden Age painter Rembrandt van Rijn that was in the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum of Boston, Massachusetts, United States, prior to being stolen in 1990.
In Junhyung Kim artistic practice, language serves as a central element. Recognizing that language is an integral aspect of human existence, shaping communication and societal structures, he explores its multifaceted role. His language is the Bible.
